About the role
As a Cost Accountant reporting to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial accuracy and efficiency of our operations. Your expertise will support informed decision-making and cost management within our processing functions. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and analysing financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Researching market rates to maintain competitive and accurate cost standards.
- Updating the company ledger to accurately reflect financial positions.
- Conducting data analysis to provide managers with actionable costing insights.
- Identifying and recommending cost-efficient solutions to manage expenditures.
- Preparing comprehensive reports on expenses, budgets, and supply chain performance.
- Monitoring and comparing weekly actual costs against standard costs, addressing variances.
- Developing costings for new products and maintaining the accuracy of costing systems.
- Collaborating with teams to ensure KPIs are achieved and exceeded.
About you You are a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional with a proven background in finance and cost management. Holding tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related field, you bring 3-5 years of experience in accounting roles, including prior exposure to cost accounting. Your analytical mindset and ability to work with precision ensure the accuracy of financial records and insightful analysis.
Experience in the FMCG or manufacturing industries is a bonus, but your advanced Microsoft Excel skills and adaptability to new systems set you apart. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, leveraging strong problem-solving abilities and time management skills to meet deadlines and exceed expectations. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you are approachable, customer-focused, and committed to delivering meaningful financial insights to stakeholders.
