About The Role
The Director of Cyber Security leads and manages the organisation’s security framework, ensuring the protection of critical information assets and the integrity of its digital infrastructure. This position is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive cyber security program that mitigates risk and addresses emerging threats. The role involves developing policies and procedures, managing incident response, and guiding a team in proactive security practices and ongoing improvements.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify security gaps, prioritise vulnerabilities, and implement remediation strategies.
- Collaborate across departments to integrate risk management practices and controls.
- Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and guidelines to safeguard the organisation’s digital assets.
- Oversee internal and external audits to assess the effectiveness of security measures and address any compliance issues.
- Lead training and awareness programs to enhance security practices and cultivate a proactive security culture.
- Work with IT teams to design and implement secure architectures for infrastructure, systems, and applications.
- Stay informed about evolving cyber threats, industry trends, and advancements to ensure continuous improvement in security measures.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders to foster alignment with the organisation’s security objectives.
- Optimise resources and systems to enhance cost-efficiency in security operations.
- Align cyber security strategies with overall organisational goals, providing insights and reporting to support strategic planning.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related discipline; advanced certifications are beneficial.
- Extensive experience in cyber security management, with a proven track record in leading security initiatives within large organisations.
- Strong grasp of security principles, frameworks, and regulatory standards, including incident response, threat intelligence, and risk assessment.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively influence leadership and ensure alignment with security goals.
- Experience driving governance, compliance, and risk management improvements.
