About the role
As an Injury Management Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting employees affected by work-related and non-work-related injuries. Reporting to the WHS & Injury Lead, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary safety team, focusing on early intervention strategies and ensuring a proactive approach to injury management and employee well-being.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the end-to-end process of workers’ compensation claims and fitness for work cases nationally.
- Collaborating with injured or ill employees, treating medical providers, insurers, and rehabilitation specialists to ensure safe and effective return-to-work outcomes.
- Providing expert advice and coaching to internal stakeholders on best-practice injury management and compliance with Workers’ Compensation legislation.
- Identifying trends, analyzing injury data, and implementing targeted strategies to minimize workplace risks and enhance safety culture.
- Partnering with the WHS team to develop and roll out proactive wellness initiatives, injury prevention programs, and employee education.
- Preparing and maintaining detailed records and reports, ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements and organizational policies.
- Supporting and driving a strong safety and reporting culture across all business areas.
- Leading and participating in ad hoc projects to enhance the organization’s approach to injury management and employee well-being.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring a passion for workplace health and safety, strong case management experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.
You will also demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in managing work-related and non-work-related injury cases.
- Strong knowledge of Workers’ Compensation legislation, processes, and best practices (Queensland focus preferred).
- Ability to engage, educate, and support employees and managers on early return-to-work processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement in injury management and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage a significant caseload effectively.
- Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator (RRTWC) Certification.
- Qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety, Rehabilitation, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing workers’ compensation claims and injury management processes nationally.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety legislation and return-to-work frameworks.
Desirable: - Experience working with rehabilitation providers, medical specialists, WorkSafe regulators, and insurance agents.
- Familiarity with Solv Injury software or other case management platforms.
- Previous experience in youth residential care or the social services industry.
