About the role
As the Volunteer Manager at 3RD Space, you will be at the heart of this transformation. You will lead their volunteer program, creating and implementing strategies to recruit, train, and engage a dedicated team of volunteers who will provide vital support to their visitors. Your leadership will ensure that every volunteer has the resources, guidance, and opportunities to thrive, contributing to 3RD Space's mission of creating lasting change.
- Attract and recruit volunteers, matching them with roles that align with their skills and interests.
- Design and deliver an engaging onboarding and training program for all new volunteers.
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship, fostering a positive, collaborative environment.
- Work with their leadership team and program managers to ensure seamless coordination of volunteers across all services.
- Develop and manage systems to recognize and reward volunteers for their invaluable contributions.
- Maintain volunteer records accurately and confidentially.
- Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to enhance volunteer engagement opportunities.
About you You’re a passionate professional with strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to helping others. With empathy, resilience, and a proactive mindset, you navigate challenges and uphold high standards of safety and confidentiality, while understanding the issues faced by those experiencing homelessness.
- Proven experience in volunteer management or a similar role.
- A genuine passion for community services and helping others.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups, including First Nations communities.
- Ability to work independently while being a key member of a supportive team.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- An empathetic and resilient nature, with the ability to navigate challenging situations with tact and professionalism.
- Knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing homelessness, as well as the impact of trauma on individuals.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to problem-solve and find innovative solutions.
- Familiarity with legislation such as the Human Rights Act, Child Protection Act, and NDIS.
